Cold Finger Steamers: Built for Alberta Winters

The Cold Finger Steamer is a shop-built stainless steel system designed and handcrafted by Glen Schaefer for rugged farm and northern conditions. Available in 1, 2, and 4-gallon models, these steamers make stock water thawing simple, safe, and efficient. Each unit features a ½-inch outlet and 15 ft. of Red Devil steam hose, with a large 2-inch filler cap that allows you to use ice chunks or snow — no need to haul extra water. Designed to work with a tiger torch, these steamers require no electricity, making them ideal for remote or off-grid use.

Reliable. Portable. Powerful.

Perfect for thawing

  • Livestock waterers and troughs
  • Frozen shed doors and conduit pipes
  • Buried water and sewer lines
  • Any plastic components that a heat gun or torch might damage
  • Even underwater applications

Steam Efficiency

The steam water condenser assists with drying the steam and improving hot water retention, ensuring consistent performance. One gallon of water produces approximately 20 minutes of continuous steam.

Easy to Transport

The entire 1- and 2-gallon setup fits perfectly into a small calf sled, making it easy to transport anywhere on the farm or job site. These steamers make thawing frozen waterers and septic lines the best winter job!
